Company history

The company was founded in Braunschweig in 1933 by Heinrich Schulze senior, the father of the present owner. Under the brand name Schubarol the first product launched was a herbal laxative, categorised as a biological/pharmaceutical product. After that came toothpaste, roasted coffee beans and, after the war, dandelion pudding.

In the mid-1950s the company founded a subsidiary, "Fürsten-Reform Dr. med. Hans Plümer OHG", with the physician Dr. Plümer. It developed an extensive range of health foods, including cane sugar, dextrose, sea salt, tea, rice, cocoa, and indeed honey.

At the end of the 1960s, we began to concentrate exclusively on the systematic bottling and marketing of honey and other bee products, for example royal jelly.
BIHOPHAR honey is sold throughout Germany in well-stocked foodstores.

In 1974, the head office and bottling plant relocated to Braunschweig-Wenden, whiere it is still based.
